DEEP CREEK LODGE
The Portland Underground is now earthquake-proofed and a lot of the soil has been removed and taken to Deep Creek Lodge. Work
parties took place sporadically during the past few summers to recover artifacts. The artifacts that have been recovered will
be cleaned, identified and, eventually, displayed.

PIONEER SETTLEMENT ALONG THE OREGON TRAIL
Located in Rhododendron, Oregon this pioneer site was formerly part of the Oregon Trail. As the years went on, it became a
logging camp.
Help is needed in all areas. Construction, removing overgrowth, plumbing, electrical, painting. Lots of areas for anyone
to work in.
When the settlement opens there will also be need for sewing pioneer clothing, making soap, candles, providing period
music...just to name a few things needed to show what this settlement would have been like back in the late 1800's.
Donations are welcome: Michael Jones welcomes donations of pioneer tools, cooking utensils, clothing, pictures. Anything
that our pioneers may have used.
